Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Teacher Assistant to join our educational team. In this vital role, you will support classroom teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive, and effective instruction to students with diverse learning needs. You will assist with implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), managing classroom activities, and providing personalized support to students with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum or with developmental disabilities. Responsibilities Support classroom teachers in delivering curriculum aligned with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and special education standards Assist students with disabilities, including those with autism spectrum disorders and behavioral challenges, in daily activities and learning tasks Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive conduct and support students with behavioral disorders Provide physical assistance for students requiring mobility or other physical support during classroom activities Use communication skills such as American Sign Language (ASL) to facilitate effective interaction with students who have communication needs Support literacy and math instruction tailored to individual student goals, including basic math skills development Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to develop and execute individualized education plans (IEPs) and ensure compliance with confidentiality standards Qualifications Experience working with children, especially in early childhood education or childcare settings Knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management techniques Prior experience supporting students with special needs, including those with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders Familiarity with behavior management strategies for students with behavioral disorders or disabilities Proficiency in American Sign Language (preferred but not required) Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and professionally Strong communication and writing skills for documentation and collaboration purposes Experience working within private school environments or special education classrooms is a plus Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team supporting student success This position is ideal for passionate individuals eager to contribute positively to the educational journey of children with diverse needs.
