Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a dedicated Personal Care Aide (PCA) in Scranton, PA and surrounding areas. This contract position offers a unique opportunity to support students across several school settings—elementary, intermediate, SPED (Autism and Emotional), and high school—based on the evolving needs of the district. With multiple openings available, you'll have the chance to leverage your experience and compassion while growing your career within a supportive educational environment.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Prior experience working as a Paraprofessional or PCA, preferably in school settings Hold or be in the process of obtaining Pennsylvania credentialing (Act 151, Act 114, Act 126, Act 168 as applicable, TB test, physical, background checks, and drug screening) Preference given to fully credentialed applicants Flexibility to work at any district-assigned location; final placement is based on district needs Strong interpersonal and communication skills Compassion, patience, and a commitment to supporting students with varying needs
Responsibilities:
Assist students with daily activities, personal care, and classroom engagement Provide consistent support to promote students' independence and inclusion Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and administrative staff to deliver individualized support Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all district and regulatory guidelines Model positive behavior and reinforce expectations in varied school environments This is a full-time, onsite contract position running through June 2027 with a consistent 35-hour work week. Pay for this opportunity can reach up to $22 per hour for candidates with extensive PCA experience.
