Description Overview:
The principle duties of the Assistant Group Supervisor include: collaborating with the Group Supervisor to develop, implement, and evaluate daily classroom plans and activities, coordinating daily activities and supervising Aides in the absence of the Group Supervisor, overseeing the physical wellbeing of the children, maintenance of the classroom, classroom materials and equipment, and contributing to the overall operation of the School Age Child Care Program.
General Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Group Supervisor to provide a nurturing environment in which all children feel welcomed and secure.
- Meet Keystone STARS
- standards.
- Adhere to the standards outlined in the JCC Early Childhood Program Handbook for: 1. Following DHS regulations 2. Communicating with families 3. Care of facility and equipment 4. Record keeping 5. Curriculum 6. Health and safety procedures 7. Teamwork, including regular attendance of staff meetings
- Attend regular meetings for the School Age Program and the JCC.
- Other duties as needed or assigned.
Performance Expectations:
- Understand/possess an openness to Jewish religion and traditions
- Attend all meetings and events that support the department's main objectives and responsibilities
- Positively and actively promote the JCC's mission, membership, programs, events, and charitable purpose to JCC members and the general public
- Be familiar with the mission, vision statements, and Core Values of the JCC.
Model the Core Values while working and communicating with members and staff
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus 30 credits in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Human Services, or an equivalent field; or
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus 15 credits in the above fields and one year experience working with children; or
