•Undergraduate in good academic standing with knowledge of the subject matter. ORNon-UM Student with Bachelor's or Master's degree in information technologyThis position is not open to current University of Michigan graduate students.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in information technology1+ years of experience in an administrative or program support role, especially in higher education.
Flexibility to occasionally work outside regular business hours to support events.
Must have a basic understanding of web accessibility guidelines.
Course DescriptionThis course focuses on how to apply information analysis to real-world problems. It introduces students to analyzing data in python, using frameworks such as pandas and matplotlib. It emphasizes that proficiency in technical methods-programming, statistics, etc., is not sufficient. To be effective in practice, information analysts need to learn about real-world challenges faced by people or organizations, align their data analysis with a person or organization's specific needs, and prioritize impacts over sophisticated techniques.
