Job Description

We are seeking a Research Program Assistant II who will support the conduct of a research project. Collects and organizes data through study-specific procedures that may include community outreach, data collection, sample collection, laboratory work, and/or field work. Provides general administrative support for meetings/events, communications, reporting, etc. Specific Duties & Responsibilities Assist in developing operational plans to meet research goals. Set up tools and procedures for data collection and study processes. Collect and organize data per study requirements, e.g. participant interviews, administer questionnaires; conduct background research, laboratory processing, etc. Process data by organizing data records and study files. Run basic analyses and prepare routine reports. Perform literature searches, abstract data from literature searches and index gathered data. Other duties as assigned. In Addition to the Duties Listed Above If women are in need of assistance in any way, all staff will be trained to provide referrals to substance use treatment, housing agencies, WIC, or other organizations that assist with food access, health care assistance, domestic violence assistance, etc. This staff person will also work closely with the peer navigators and the community resource coordinator to ensure all women in need of services or referrals are assisted in the process. Attending events in the community along side the community resource coordinator, when able. While this may include hosting booths or information tables about our study at different resource fairs or events throughout Baltimore and surrounding counties, dissemination of recruitment materials, and follow-up of any women or organizations that want to engage with the research in some way. Assist staff in the collection of biospecimen collection and processing that includes possibly collecting placenta and cord samples, delivering to the JHH lab space, and then following the correct processing protocols to obtain and store the samples. Manage and coordinate all biospecimen shipping needs. May be asked to work later evening, weekend, or very early morning (before 6a) to accommodate delivery biospecimen collection and processing as part of the NOSI ancillary study Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or graduation equivalent. One year of related experience. Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
