This contract position offers the opportunity to work 1:1 with an 11th grade student who is visually impaired, providing essential assistance throughout the school day. In addition to direct student support, you will play a key role in preparing materials for the Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) who collaborates on-site three times per week.

Key Qualifications:

Experience working as a Paraprofessional in a school setting Familiarity with assistive technology and materials for visually impaired students is highly valued Strong communication and collaboration abilities Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing student needs A patient, student-centered approach with a passion for helping others succeed High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in special education preferred

Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 assistance to an 11th grade student to support academic and social development Help the student access curriculum, organize materials, and use adaptive equipment Prepare and adapt classroom materials as directed by the TVI Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment Collaborate regularly with teachers, TVI, and school staff to implement student support plans Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times This role covers 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with a consistent daytime schedule and focus on creating valuable educational experiences for one student.
