A Teacher Assistant assists classroom teachers by providing extra individual attention and instruction to students. Helps teachers with recordkeeping, preparation for lessons and activities and supervising students. May work with special education students, or work in a school library or computer lab; may be called teacher aide or paraprofessional.

Job Description
Drive children to and from school, including field trips in the summer. Have a valid license, including a license or willing to get a chauffeur license. Have a clean driving record Develop, plan and supervise activities during school vacation weeks, and outer days off from school. Responsible for supervising and demonstrating the ability to set and maintain limits for children using positive reinforcement Maintain the necessary records involving attendance, proper release procedures, program registrations and documents required for state licensing ensure proper procedures regarding vehicle use are always followed Responsible for attending staff meetings/events Follow all DHS state regulations completion of a minimum of 24 hours training per year relevant to the care of school age children closing the center down and light cleaning duties
