Job Description

Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners in an intensive elementary classroom! This contract opportunity offers you the chance to make a meaningful difference in students daily lives while collaborating with a dedicated team of teaching assistants. You will be assisting a K-3rd grade group of 11 students with a range of disabilities, including language and autism spectrum disorders. The supportive environment includes six other TAs, who rotate responsibilities to create a truly team-focused atmosphere. Your comfort with toileting and diaper changing, as well as your patience and understanding, will make you an essential member of this highly coordinated classroom.
Desired skills and background:
Experience working as a paraprofessional in a school or educational environment is preferred Must fulfill all Rhode Island Department of Education requirements for paraprofessionals Familiarity with supporting students with disabilities, especially those with language delays and ASD Compassion, flexibility, and ability to collaborate daily with fellow teaching assistants Willingness and ability to assist with personal care needs, including toileting and diaper changes Key responsibilities: Partner with certified teachers and other TAs to implement individualized student plans Support academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth of K-3 students Help with personal care tasks as needed Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere Adapt to dynamic group needs and provide hands-on support to students throughout the school day This contract role (up to 31.25 hours per week, onsite) is a fantastic chance to develop your skills and make a lasting impact during the school year.
