Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Looking for an opportunity to make a positive impact in an educational setting? Two contract paraprofessional positions are available for the full school year, located close to the scenic Block Island, RI. These roles are ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting students and teachers in a dynamic environment. Working hours run from 7:50 AM to 2:10 PM, Monday through Friday. Please note—candidates must be able to reside on Block Island during the work week due to ferry scheduling.

Positions Available:

Position 1: Dedicated 1:1 student support, providing focused assistance as well as additional coverage throughout the school day. Position 2: Classroom-based support, working alongside teachers to help students with their daily academic and social routines.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

Previous experience as a school paraprofessional or similar support role. Proven ability to work collaboratively with educators and students. Resourceful, patient, and committed to fostering a positive learning atmosphere. RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification strongly preferred. Flexibility and adaptability in meeting the varied needs of students and staff. Reliable and open to living on Block Island during the work week.

Key Responsibilities:

Offer tailored instructional and behavioral support to assigned students. Assist classroom teachers with daily activities and lesson implementation. Support students' learning, engagement, and independence. Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.
