We provide people with connections to grow through our services, partnerships, and advocacy efforts. Summary Westbay Children's Center, a program of Westbay Community Action, Inc., is looking for a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Teacher Assistant to help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. The ideal candidate enjoys working as part of a team, supporting children's learning through play, and building positive relationships with children and families. If you're passionate about early childhood education, we'd love to hear from you! The pay rate for the position is $16/hour and the schedule is Monday - Friday 9am - 5:30pm (40/week). Westbay offers a generous benefits package including paid vacation, 10 sick days, 2 personal days, 14 paid holidays and a paid day off on your birthday. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required Teacher's Assistant certification preferred CPR/First Aide certification, or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire Complete 24 hours of continuing education annually Meet DCYF and BCI criminal background check requirements Have required immunizations Valid Driver's License is preferred Reliable transportation is required Duties/Responsibilities Assist with planning and implementation of classroom activities Supervise children at all times and ensure their safety and well-being Set up materials for classroom activities Perform household maintenance duties to ensure a clean, organized classroom facility Assume overall responsibility for children and daily activities in the absence of the teacher Assist in engaging parents in meaningful two-way communication Share responsibility for the safety and well-being of all children in accordance with DCYF Regulations Westbay Community Action, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
