A Teacher Assistant assists classroom teachers by providing extra individual attention and instruction to students. Helps teachers with recordkeeping, preparation for lessons and activities and supervising students. May work with special education students, or work in a school library or computer lab; may be called teacher aide or paraprofessional.

Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the teachers in implementing daily activities and lessons for children in a daycare or preschool setting
  • Provide care and support to toddlers and preschool-aged children
  • Cover lunch breaks in classrooms.
  • Must be comfortable changing diapers/pull ups
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum
  • Support children with autism or other special needs, ensuring their inclusion and participation in classroom activities
  • Implement behavior management strategies to create a positive and supportive learning environment
  • Cover call outs/teacher schedule time off.
Experience:
  • Previous experience working in a daycare or preschool setting is preferred
  • Familiarity with curriculum development for young children
  • Experience working with children with autism or other special needs is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team of teachers and staff members Please be available Monday-Friday 7:00-5:30 occasional full 8 hour shifts are requested.

This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The employee may be required to perform other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. This Floater/Assistant Teacher position shift hours is Monday-Friday 12:00pm
  • 5:30pm unless you are asked to cover a different shift for the day.
