Prestige Montessori Method Academy (PMMA) is looking for a caring, dependable, and patient Teacher Assistant to join our toddler classroom. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children and understands that toddlers are learning how to do just about everything—from using their words and becoming more independent to learning how to interact with their friends. The Teacher Assistant will work closely with the Lead Teacher to help provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment for children ages 12 months to 3 years. What you'll be doing: Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities and routines Help supervise and care for children throughout the day Support children with meals, diapering/toileting, handwashing, and other daily routines Help keep the classroom clean, organized, and ready for the children Assist with activities, art, sensory play, music, movement, and other hands-on learning experiences Encourage children to develop independence and appropriate social skills Help children learn how to use classroom materials and make appropriate choices Communicate with the Lead Teacher about children's needs, behaviors, and progress Follow PMMA's health, safety, and classroom procedures Work as part of a team and be willing to jump in wherever needed What we're looking for: Someone who is dependable and shows up ready to work Patient, kind, and comfortable working with toddlers Someone who understands that every child develops at their own pace A team player who is willing to learn and take direction Someone who can stay calm and patient during challenging moments Previous childcare or classroom experience is preferred, but we are willing to consider the right person who is eager to learn Must be able to meet South Carolina childcare licensing requirements At PMMA, we believe children need adults who are patient, consistent, encouraging, and genuinely happy to be around them.
