Job Description
Francis Marion University and the Gail & Terry Richardson Center for the Child invite applications for a Teaching Assistant to serve as a floater and assist where needed. Duties include, but are not limited to: Assists the Lead Teacher in planning both long and short-range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy. Manage the classroom routine in the absence of the Lead Teacher. Assists the Lead Teacher in meeting the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child. Assists the Lead Teacher in arranging a classroom environment in accordance with program goals and philosophy. Assists the Lead Teacher in maintaining a safe and healthy environment. Assists the Lead Teacher in maintaining anecdotal records. Maintains confidentiality. Completes professional development activities in early childhood education through in-service training and/or college level courses. Maintains all applicable licensing regulations. Maintains certification in Infant/Child First Aid and CPR. All other duties assigned by the director.
