Infants & Young Toddlers (12 weeks-24 months) Our Saviour Lutheran School is looking for a warm, dependable, and nurturing Assistant Teacher to join our Butterfly Room! This position works alongside our classroom teacher to provide a safe, loving, and engaging environment for our youngest students. We are looking for someone who truly enjoys working with babies and toddlers, is comfortable with the hands-on care that comes with this age group, and wants to be an active part of our preschool community. Responsibilities Provide attentive, nurturing care for infants and young toddlers Actively supervise children and maintain a safe classroom environment Assist with feeding, diapering, toileting, and daily care routines Follow safe sleep practices and DSS licensing requirements Engage children through play, music, movement, sensory experiences, and age-appropriate activities Assist with classroom activities and preparation Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized classroom Assist with outdoor play, transitions, and rest time Communicate professionally with families and coworkers Follow all school health, safety, and supervision policies Qualifications Experience working with infants, toddlers, or young children preferred Dependable, patient, nurturing, and able to work well as part of a team Must meet South Carolina DSS childcare employment requirements Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification preferred Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and be active throughout the day Must be willing to complete required annual training and professional development About Our School Our Saviour Lutheran School is a small, welcoming preschool where relationships, learning through play, and providing a nurturing environment for children are at the heart of what we do.
