K-2 Assistant Preschool Teacher

Thomas Heyward Academy is hiring an assistant preschool teacher for our K-2 classroom. We are seeing a passionate and experienced Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our team and work with children in our K-2 class. The ideal candidate will create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment that supports the physical, emotional, and cognitive growth of young learners. They will also have a passion for working with young children. Experience in the classroom is preferred. Must have a HS Diploma (or higher)

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the lead teacher to implement age appropriate lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards Foster a nurturing and positive classroom environment that supports children's social and emotional development Assess and document children's progress, providing regular feedback to families Collaborate with fellow teachers and support staff to ensure a cohesive and enriching program Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators

Qualifications:

High School diploma (or higher) Previous experience working with preschool age children Strong classroom management and organizational skills CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Passionate about early childhood education and child development
