Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Assistant Teacher/Floater to join our vibrant educational team. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to support classroom teachers, enhance student learning experiences, and ensure a nurturing environment for children of diverse needs. As an integral part of our educational community, you will provide flexible support across multiple classrooms, assist with instructional activities, and foster positive behavior and development in young learners. Your energetic approach and dedication will help create an engaging atmosphere where every student can thrive. Duties Assist lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional learning Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and maintaining a safe, organized environment Supervise children during activities, transitions, meals, and outdoor play to ensure their safety and well-being Collaborate with teachers to adapt instructional strategies for students with disabilities or special needs, including those with autism or requiring individualized support Use educational technologies and computers to enhance learning experiences and track student progress Communicate regularly with parents about student development, behavior, and classroom activities to foster strong partnerships Maintain compliance with educational regulations such as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and ensure adherence to safety protocols like first aid and CPR procedures Requirements Prior experience working with children in classroom settings or early childhood education environments Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom behavior management strategies Familiarity with special education practices, including supporting students with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, parents, and team members Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail such as proofreading lesson plans or documentation Proficiency with educational technologies and computers used for instructional purposes Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification upon hire is required Understanding of educational compliance standards such as the ESSA and familiarity with Montessori or private school curricula is a plus Join us in making a meaningful difference in young learners' lives!
