Job Description

We are looking for a flexible, fun, and caring individual to float around and assist in a variety of classrooms. Hours for this position would be 12:00 pm-6:00 pm (we have flexibility with the start time if needed). His Ark Assistant Teacher His Ark is both childcare and preschool, with children ranging in age from infants to 12 years. Preschool curriculum is integrated throughout the day and is developmentally appropriate. There is a thriving program for school-age children both before/after school and all day during the summer. The Assistant Teacher is responsible for leading by the mission of the center, "To provide a safe harbor where all can grow in Jesus." In an Assistant Teacher, we look for a committed individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young children and their families, while effectively and efficiently supporting all daily operations. Some of the exciting things that you will do as an assistant Teacher include, but are not limited to: To work cooperatively with Lead Teachers to provide for all aspects of care for children in their classroom Developing relationships with parents through open communication. Creating a warm and nurturing environment for the children. Interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning. Assisting Lead Teachers in all of the Lead Teacher tasks. Models Christian behaviors and principals within the classroom at all times
Required Skills and Experience:
Collaborate with all His Ark Staff A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day Must pass all required state and federal agency background checks Must be physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors. Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children. Demonstrates Christian faith and Christian commitment in all areas of personal and professional life.
