Brentwood, TN Job Details Full-time $18 - $20 an hour 9 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Dental insurance Professional development assistance Qualifications High school diploma or GED Working with students Food preparation Full Job Description The Currey Ingram Academy Child Development Center is currently accepting applications for the following full time position: Toddler/ One Year Old Class (Assistant Teacher or Lead Teacher) The Currey Ingram Child Development Center is an Infant -Pre-K childcare program that serves the children of academy faculty and members of the surrounding community. The CDC places an emphasis on outdoor education and offers a dynamic enrichment program that includes gardening, cooking, foreign language, music, and movement. Teachers are provided with the Frogstreet Press curriculum and are supported with a mentor. Preference is given to candidates who have experience working with these specific age groups as well as early childhood education credentials, or their equivalent. General staff responsibilities include overseeing the daily operation of the classroom and working with the other teachers to meet the developmental physical, and emotional needs of the children. Teachers are expected to manage the classroom with positive behavioral expectations. Our program is not specialized for specific learning needs, and a background in special education is not required.

Lead teacher preferences:
Bachelor's degree, particularly in the areas of early childhood education, child development, or social work. Lead teacher responsibilities include creating lesson plans, assessing students, communicating with parents, and writing weekly newsletters.
Assistant teacher requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent Assistant teacher responsibilities include preparation of food, organization of classroom materials and supplies, and supporting supervision of children.
Rate:
$18 - $20/hr starting pay
