Chattanooga Christian School (CCS) is a Christian, interdenominational, co-educational, day school nestled on 55+ acres at the foot of Lookout Mountain. CCS has been serving Christian families in the Chattanooga area since 1970 and currently enrolls 1,550+ students in the Lower School (Preschool -5), Middle School (6-8), and High School (9-12). To serve Christ and His Kingdom by walking alongside children in grades 3-5, ensuring they feel supported, capable, and seen. This role partners with the lead teacher and the Director of Exceptional Education to cultivate an inclusive environment where every child can flourish academically and spiritually. By providing targeted instruction and compassionate care, the Teaching Assistant helps bridge gaps in learning and fosters a classroom culture of grace and belonging.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Missional Support & Instruction Invest in the learning journey of children across all content areas (reading, writing, math, science, social studies, Bible), helping them grasp concepts and grow in confidence. Provide focused care through one-on-one or small group instruction, reinforcing the lead teacher's lessons to ensure every child achieves mastery. Champion inclusion by ensuring accommodations and modifications are faithfully provided, allowing children of all abilities to access the curriculum and succeed. Enrich the classroom experience by thinking creatively about ways to extend learning beyond the standard curriculum, sparking curiosity and growth. Foster a peaceful environment by assisting with classroom management and helping to maintain a positive, orderly atmosphere conducive to learning. Collaboration & Stewardship Serve as a faithful partner to the lead teacher, preparing instructional materials and offering timely feedback regarding child progress and behavior. Collaborate with the support village , working closely with interventionists, therapists, and counselors to holistically meet the needs of each child . Protect the dignity of every child by maintaining strict confidentiality regarding student records and sensitive family matters. Pursue professional excellence by actively participating in professional development and embracing a spirit of continuous learning. Demonstrate technological stewardship , comfortably using a variety of technology to support instruction and communication. Serve with a willing heart , fulfilling other duties as assigned by the LS Academic Dean to support the broader mission.QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES A

Educational experience , with a background in elementary education and previous teaching experience preferred. A heart for diverse learners , with experience serving children from various backgrounds and ability levels. Embodied Christ-like character , demonstrating the call and availability to fulfill the needs of this role with integrity.
