Children's House (Ages 3-6) Lady Bird Montessori School About the Role The Children's House Assistant Guide partners with the Lead Guide to create an authentic Montessori environment where children ages 3-6 develop independence, confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning. This role supports the prepared environment, uninterrupted work cycles, and daily classroom routines while fostering respectful, nurturing relationships with students, families, and colleagues. As an integral member of the school community, the Assistant Guide models Montessori principles through professionalism, collaboration, and initiative, contributing to a peaceful, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that supports the growth and well-being of every child. About You Passionate about supporting young children and fostering their independence through authentic Montessori practice. Warm, patient, and emotionally mature with a genuine respect for every child. Professional, reliable, and committed to maintaining a positive, collaborative school culture. Strong observational, organizational, and communication skills with excellent attention to detail. Essential Responsibilities Classroom Environment:
Support the preparation, organization, and maintenance of a safe, beautiful, and engaging Montessori learning environment.
Student Support:
Foster children's independence, confidence, and well-being through respectful guidance and individualized support.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the Lead Guide and school community to support classroom success and contribute to school life.
Family Partnerships:
Build positive relationships with families while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and strong communication.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
Ensure the safety and well-being of students by following school policies, maintaining active supervision, and supporting daily classroom routines. Qualifications High School diploma required Montessori Assistant Training or completion of Montessori coursework preferred. Experience working with children ages 3-6 in a Montessori or early childhood setting preferred. Knowledge of Montessori philosophy or a demonstrated commitment to learning authentic Montessori practices. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a professional educational team. Successful completion of all required background checks and licensing requirements.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to actively engage with children and perform the physical duties required to maintain a safe, organized, and dynamic classroom environment.
