Assistant Teacher/Floater Illuminate Montessori School Cypress Creek Cedar Park, TX Job Details Full-time $16 - $17 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Student supervision Teamwork Personal service experience with children Montessori Preschool experience Full Job Description Job Description We are seeking a warm, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Guide to join our Montessori school community. The Assistant Guide works alongside a Lead Guide to support children throughout their day, maintain a beautiful and organized classroom environment, and contribute to a positive school community. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves working with children , enjoys being part of a collaborative team, and is interested in learning more about the Montessori method. Previous Montessori experience is welcome but not required —we are looking for someone who is eager to learn, receptive to feedback, and passionate about supporting children's growth and independence. This is an hourly, non-exempt position . What You'll Do Support Children & the Classroom Provide attentive and consistent supervision of children throughout the school day Maintain required teacher-to-child ratios and follow all health and safety expectations Interact with children in a warm, respectful, patient, and joyful manner Encourage children to develop independence and confidence Assist children with daily routines and transitions Observe children and communicate relevant observations to the Lead Guide Redirect children respectfully when needed to maintain a peaceful and productive classroom environment Support the Lead Guide during Montessori lessons and classroom work periods Help protect children's concentration and minimize unnecessary classroom disruptions Maintain the Prepared Environment Help maintain a clean, beautiful, organized, and inviting Montessori classroom Complete daily classroom preparation before children begin their work Clean and reset classroom materials throughout the day Ensure materials are organized and returned to their appropriate locations Assist with classroom cleaning, sanitizing, and general upkeep Help prepare materials and activities as directed by the Lead Guide Partner With Your Classroom Team Work closely with the Lead Guide and other members of the school team Communicate openly and professionally with coworkers Receive and implement feedback from Lead Guides and school leadership Help problem-solve classroom challenges as a team Participate in staff meetings and individual meetings with your supervisor Step in and support the classroom and campus where needed Build Positive Family & School Relationships Greet children and families warmly each day Maintain positive and professional communication with parents regarding routine parts of their child's day Communicate significant concerns or sensitive information to the Lead Guide or school leadership so appropriate follow-up can occur Participate in classroom celebrations, school events, parent education opportunities, and community activities Help create a welcoming environment where children and families feel known and supported What We're Looking For Experience working with young children preferred Genuine love for working with children Interest in Montessori education and a willingness to learn the Montessori approach Patient, nurturing, dependable, and professional demeanor Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to take direction and implement feedback Strong attention to children's safety and supervision Ability to remain calm and positive in a busy classroom environment Reliable attendance and punctuality Growth mindset and solution-oriented approach Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development Ability to meet applicable state childcare licensing requirements Our Ideal Candidate Our ideal Assistant Guide is someone who understands that the small things matter. You are comfortable receiving feedback, willing to learn, and understand that consistency and teamwork are essential when caring for young children. You don't need to come to us already knowing everything about Montessori. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys children, wants to grow as an educator, and is excited to become part of a strong school community.
Pay:
$16.00 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
