Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a vital support role working closely with students in a dynamic school setting near Cibolo, TX. This contract position provides an excellent opportunity to make a direct impact on students who are deaf or hard of hearing, utilizing your skills as an ASL Paraprofessional. You will work primarily at one assigned site (either Highlands High School or Mission Academy), with your assignment finalized soon. This is a full-time, on-site position, allowing you to build strong relationships and provide consistent, meaningful support throughout the academic year.
Key Qualifications:
Possess one of the following: Associate's degree or higher At least 48 college semester hours recognized by a Texas or regional education agency plus successful completion of a paraeducator course via Stedi.org (passing score of 70%+) Relevant pediatric or school-based experience supporting children with hearing loss Bachelor's degree is preferred Must be able to pass background check and fingerprinting as required for school personnelResponsibilities:
Support students who are deaf or hard of hearing within the classroom and school environment Utilize ASL fluency to facilitate communication and promote a positive learning experience Collaborate with teachers and educational staff to adapt materials and accommodate student needs Assist in documenting student progress and maintaining records as required Foster an inclusive, encouraging classroom community Enjoy the fulfillment of contributing to students' development in a supportive school district.
