Special Education Aide/BASSJOB DESCRIPTION
Help meet the physical and instructional needs of individual students with disabilities inside and outside classroom. Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEP), including self-help, behavior management, and instructional programs. Work under general supervision of principal and immediate direction of certified teacher. DUTIES andRESPONSIBILITIES
Help manage the behavior of assigned students. This includes intervening in crisis situations and following individual student behavior intervention plans as needed. Assume responsibility for learning and adapting to each student's special medical, physical, communicative, and emotional needs. Work with assigned students or small groups to reinforce behavioral skills assigned by teacher. Assist assigned students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty. Collect necessary paperwork/data per teacher direction. Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of assigned students. Participate in professional development programs, faculty meetings, and special events as assigned. Assist in other Special Education or General Education classroom settings. Maintain confidentiality. Maintain regular attendance. Perform other duties as assigned.EXPERIENCE

Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED Valid Texas educational aide certificate (must obtain within 30 days of employment) Current certification in de-escalation and restraint techniques or completion of certification within 45 school days of employmentSpecial Knowledge/Skills:
