Friday Starting Pay:
$17/hour
Additional Art Director Hours:
8:00-9:00 AM, $25/hour, Monday - Friday We are a small, creative preschool near downtown Denton with a strong emphasis on art, creativity, hands-on learning, and outdoor play. Our school provides a warm, engaging environment where children have plenty of opportunities to explore, create, move, and learn through play. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dependable Assistant Preschool Teacher to work with children ages 3 to 4½ years old in a classroom of up to 12 children. This is a fast-paced, very hands-on position. The ideal candidate genuinely enjoys being active with young children and is comfortable spending a substantial amount of the day playing, creating, exploring, and learning alongside them. Assistant Preschool Teacher Responsibilities Responsibilities include: Supervising and actively engaging with children throughout the school day Assisting the lead teacher with setting up and cleaning up after activities Helping children with toileting and potty routines Interacting with children during individual and small-group play Supporting children as they develop social, emotional, and self-help skills Participating in hands-on art, sensory, movement, and other classroom activities Spending substantial time outdoors with the children Supervising children during outdoor play and helping create a safe, engaging outdoor environment Helping maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom Assisting the lead teacher with daily routines and transitions Taking on additional responsibilities as needed This position requires someone who is comfortable being on their feet, getting messy, going outside in a variety of weather, and actively participating in children's play. Part-Time Art Director Role In addition to the classroom position, we are seeking someone with strong artistic and creative skills to take on a part-time art director role.
Art Director Hours:
8:00-9:00
AM Pay:
$25/hour This portion of the position is largely self-directed, with guidance and support from the school director. Responsibilities will vary significantly from week to week and will involve developing creative projects and visual elements throughout the school.
Projects may include:
Planning and implementing art and community projects for each classroom Creating special community projects, such as an Earth Day community project Decorating the school and classrooms with themed artwork Designing and creating bulletin boards Assisting with holiday and seasonal decorating Developing creative displays and visual projects Helping bring the school's creative vision to life The Art Director component is ideal for someone who is highly creative, self-motivated, organized, and comfortable taking an idea and turning it into a finished project. Strong artistic skills and the ability to independently plan and manage time are essential. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: Previous experience working with preschool-age children CPR and First Aid certification Strong artistic and creative skills A self-motivated and dependable work style Excellent reliability and punctuality The ability to plan, prioritize, and manage time effectively The ability to work independently while also collaborating with the lead teacher and school director A genuine enjoyment of working with young children Energy and enthusiasm for hands-on, active work Comfort spending substantial amounts of time outdoors A positive, flexible attitude and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed
Compensation & Schedule Assistant Preschool Teacher:
$17/hour starting pay 9:00 AM-4:30
PM Part-Time Art Director:
$25/hour 8:00 AM-9:00 AM The combined schedule offers an opportunity for someone who loves both working directly with young children and expressing their creativity through art.
