ABOUT US
Denton Taekwondo (Brightland Martial Arts LLC) is a Kukkiwon-certified Taekwondo school on Teasley Lane in Denton. We train children and families in World Taekwondo (Olympic-style) Taekwondo under Master Jay Jung, a Kukkiwon 5th Dan certified instructor with 35 years in martial arts. Our school is growing fast, and we are looking for a dependable, high-energy Assistant Instructor to help run our afternoon and evening children's classes.
WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO
You are not expected to run a class on your own. Master Jung leads instruction — you make the class work. On a typical shift you will:
  • Hold kicking targets and paddles for students during drills
  • Help line students up, keep them organized, and keep energy high
  • Work one-on-one with students who need extra help with a technique
  • Count reps, lead warm-ups, and demonstrate simple movements
  • Set up and put away mats, targets, and training equipment
  • Greet students and parents at the door and help with check-in
  • Keep the training floor clean, safe, and welcoming
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required:
  • You genuinely enjoy working with children ages 4-13
  • Reliable availability on weekday afternoons/evenings (this is the whole job — our classes do not move)
  • A clear, loud, confident voice in front of a group of kids
  • You show up on time, every time
  • Must be 16 or older
  • Must pass a criminal background check (we work with children) Preferred (not required — we will train the right person):
  • Martial arts experience of any style or rank (black belt a plus)
  • Experience coaching, teaching, tutoring, camp counseling, daycare, or youth sports
  • CPR/First Aid certification (we will help you get certified if you don't have it)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Korean) No Taekwondo background?
You can still be a great fit. If you are great with kids and willing to learn, we will teach you everything you need — on the clock.
