Full-Time / Part-Time About the Position St. Paul Christian Learning Center is looking for a dependable, caring, and energetic Preschool Teacher Assistant to join our team. The Teacher Assistant will work alongside the lead teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment where young children can learn, grow, and develop. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, communicates well with others, is willing to learn, and understands the importance of patience, consistency, and positive guidance. Job Responsibilities Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities and routines. Supervise children and maintain active supervision at all times. Help create a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment. Assist with age-appropriate learning activities, crafts, music, stories, and hands-on activities. Support children's social, emotional, physical, and academic development. Encourage children to communicate appropriately and develop independence. Use positive behavior guidance and redirection. Help children follow classroom rules and routines. Assist with meals, snacks, handwashing, restroom routines, and nap time. Help with diapering and toileting as required for the classroom. Assist with transitions between activities, classrooms, playground, and other areas. Help maintain classroom cleanliness and organization throughout the day. Assist with lesson preparation and classroom materials. Communicate respectfully and professionally with parents, teachers, and administration. Report any concerns regarding a child's health, behavior, development, or safety to the Lead Teacher or administration. Follow all center policies, procedures, and childcare licensing requirements. Maintain confidentiality regarding children and families. Attend required staff meetings and training. Work as a team with other teachers and staff members. Perform other childcare-related duties as assigned by administration. What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who is: Patient and caring Dependable and punctual Energetic and positive Comfortable working with young children A good communicator Able to work well as part of a team Willing to learn and receive feedback Professional and respectful Able to remain calm and patient when children are having difficult moments Previous childcare experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person who has a genuine desire to work with children. Qualifications & Requirements Must meet applicable Texas childcare employment requirements. Must successfully complete required background checks and screening. Must complete required childcare training. CPR/First Aid certification preferred or must be obtained as required. Must be able to safely supervise and interact with young children. Must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers and families. Must be reliable and able to consistently work the assigned schedule.
