PM Position:
Part-Time Assistant Teacher Highland Forest Daycare & Early Learning Center is a premium, nature-inspired early learning center serving children from infancy through school age. We are looking for a dependable, caring, and responsible Part-Time Assistant Teacher to support our teaching team during the afternoon. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children, works well as part of a team, and is looking for a consistent weekday afternoon schedule. Responsibilities Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom routines and activities Provide attentive, hands-on supervision and care for children Support children's learning, social development, and independence Help with meals, snacks, diapering, toileting, handwashing, and other daily care routines as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment Assist with classroom transitions, outdoor play, and daily activities Follow Highland Forest policies, procedures, and Texas Child Care Licensing requirements Communicate respectfully and professionally with children, families, and staff Assist with classroom preparation and cleanup Complete assigned responsibilities reliably and on time Step into different classrooms as needed to support staffing and daily operations
Qualifications Required:
Must be at least 18 years old Must pass a required criminal background check and meet all Texas Child Care Licensing requirements Current pediatric CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification Reliable transportation and dependable attendance Ability to work Monday-Friday, 1:00 PM-6:00 PM Ability to work effectively with children and follow direction from lead teachers and administration Professional, dependable, and positive attitude
Preferred:
At least 6 months of professional experience working with children Previous daycare, preschool, teaching, childcare, camp, or educational experience Experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-age children High school diploma or GED What We're Looking For The right person will be: Reliable and punctual Patient and attentive with children Comfortable staying active throughout the day A strong team player Willing to learn and take direction Professional in communication and appearance Consistent in following classroom procedures and expectations Someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children This is an afternoon support position, so flexibility to assist where needed is important.
