Dance Teacher Assistant Join the Twinkle Star Dance Academy Katy family! We are a growing children's dance studio with our own proven curriculum, specializing in fun, engaging, and age-appropriate dance classes for young dancers. Position Overview We are seeking an energetic, dependable, and outgoing Dance Teacher Assistant to work alongside our lead instructors in the classroom. This is primarily an in-room teaching assistant position working with dancers ages 18 months-8 years old . You will actively participate in classes, help demonstrate activities and movement, keep students engaged, assist the lead teacher, and help create a fun, positive, and organized class environment. The most important quality we are looking for is someone who truly loves working with young children and brings a positive, happy, patient, and encouraging attitude into the classroom. Extensive dance training or previous dance teaching experience is not required . We are looking for someone who enjoys movement, is comfortable participating in class, and is excited to learn our curriculum and teaching style. This position will also include training on our studio programs and registration process. When needed, you may help welcome trial families, answer parent questions, explain class options, and assist families with registering for classes. For the right candidate, there is potential to train and grow into a lead dance teaching position as our studio continues to expand. Key Responsibilities Assist lead instructors during children's dance classes Work primarily with dancers ages 18 months-8 years old Actively participate in class activities and demonstrate movement alongside the instructor Help students stay engaged, focused, and excited to participate Encourage dancers with patience, positivity, and enthusiasm Assist with classroom transitions, props, music, and organization Help create a happy, welcoming, and supportive studio environment Learn the Twinkle Star Dance curriculum and teaching methods Welcome new and trial families into the studio Learn our class options, tuition, policies, and registration process Answer basic parent questions when needed Assist families with class registration and enrollment Support studio events, camps, and performances as needed Qualifications We are looking for someone who: Must love working with young children Is positive, happy, patient, and encouraging Is energetic and comfortable participating in movement-based activities Is warm and able to connect naturally with young dancers Is friendly and confident communicating with parents Is reliable, punctual, and professional Is comfortable learning choreography, activities, and class material Is willing to learn our curriculum and studio registration process Can take direction and work closely with lead teachers and studio management Is interested in growing with our studio Experience in dance, cheer, gymnastics, musical theater, is a plus, but not required. Previous dance teaching experience is not required. We are happy to train the right person who is enthusiastic, great with children, and eager to learn. Required Availability Applicants must be available during some or all of the following timeframes : Tuesday afternoons and evenings Wednesday afternoons and evenings Saturday mornings through early afternoon Sunday mornings through early afternoon Please only apply if you are consistently available during these days and timeframes.
