Campus Assigned Primary Purpose:
Work under general supervision of teacher and administrator in assigned position as a classroom aide.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or
GED Valid Texas Paraprofessional Certificate Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to work well with children and teachers Ability to communicate effectively Ability to manage a classroom and assist in planning instruction
Experience:
One year experience working with children
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Support Assist teachers and students in use of appropriate educational resources. Works collaboratively with and follows directions of the supervising teacher. Demonstrates initiative in planning for the instructional needs of students Provides basic care to special needs student as directed by supervising teacher and principal Student Management Manage student behavior. Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty. Keep teacher and/or administrator informed of special needs or problems of individual students. Other Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance. Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned. Maintain confidentiality. Other duties as assigned.
