MCPA Assistant Pod Guides Schedule:
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and Monday-Friday during the school year.
Location:
MCP Academy — Mansfield, Texas MCP Academy is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Pod Guides to support our students and teaching team. Our Montessori-inspired microschool values individualized learning, hands-on exploration, meaningful relationships, and a strong sense of community. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, takes initiative, and is comfortable supporting learners in a multi-age classroom. Position Overview The Assistant Pod Guide works alongside the Lead Pod Guide to create a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment. You will help students with classroom activities, reinforce lessons, support daily routines, and encourage independence, kindness, and curiosity. Responsibilities Assist the Lead Pod Guide with lessons, learning stations, and hands-on projects. Support students individually and in small groups using guidance and plans provided by the Lead Pod Guide. Prepare learning materials and help keep the classroom clean, organized, and ready for students. Encourage positive behavior, respectful communication, problem-solving, and independence. Provide attentive supervision during classroom activities, outdoor learning, lunch, recess, and transitions. Help students follow routines and care for their materials and shared spaces. Share observations about student progress and needs with the Lead Pod Guide. Maintain student confidentiality and follow MCPA's safety procedures and school policies. Collaborate with the teaching team and assist with other classroom responsibilities as needed. Qualifications Experience working with children in a school, preschool, camp, homeschool, or similar setting preferred. Patient, nurturing, and able to provide calm, consistent guidance. Dependable attendance and availability every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday or M-F. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Willingness to learn MCPA's Montessori-inspired and project-based approach. Comfortable participating in active, hands-on learning and outdoor activities. Willingness to complete required background screening and school training.
