Position Summary:
The campus Title I Instructional Aide assists school staff with accelerated student instruction in such a way to facilitate the achievement of the school's goals.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED Valid Texas Instructional Aide Certificate or ability to obtain upon hire Must meet 1 of the 2 following criteria: Associate's degree, OR 48 credit hours from an accredited institution of higher learning Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Ability to work well with children, parents, and school staff Ability to use/learn basic computer applications Knowledge of general office equipment Effective communication skills (written and verbal) in English Ability to speak Spanish (preferred)
Responsibilities and Duties:
Work with individual students or small groups to conduct instructional activities as assigned. Maintain confidentiality of information. Assist in maintaining a neat and orderly work environment. Assist in supervising students throughout the school day as needed. Assist in the maintenance of administrative records and preparation of reports as required. Assist in inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment as assigned. Assist in preparing materials/displays for instruction or campus operations. Participate in staff development programs, faculty meetings, and special events, as required. Other duties as assigned.
Equipment Used:
Regular use of complex machines and equipment (desktop/laptop computer and software, presentation equipment, copy machines, etc.) Intermediate skill in Data Entry, Database, Presentation, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing Google suite of applications Video conferencing technology Physical /
Environmental Factors:
Must maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem-solving skills while under stress. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written). Occasional prolonged and irregular hours. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner. Observe all safety precautions.
