Shift Hours:
11:00-6:00 Veranda Montessori School is seeking Infant Assistant Teachers to support the academic, emotional, and physical development of children in a prepared and peaceful Montessori environment. Our goal is to help each child reach their fullest potential. The Assistant Teacher will collaborate with the Lead Teacher to set up, operate, and maintain the classroom with the order and neatness characteristic of the Montessori method. The Assistant Teacher will also engage in collaborative communication with families and staff, striving to become the most effective educator possible. While experience caring for infants and familiarity with Montessori principles are helpful, they are not required—we are willing to train the right candidate. Key Responsibility Contribute to creating a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical development of infants. Take direction from the Lead Teacher in the classroom. Assist the Lead Teacher in observing and maintaining records of each student's individual development. Plan activities for infants that foster curiosity and exploration appropriate to their age and developmental level. Console infants when they are upset by holding, singing to them, and ensuring their needs are met. Prepare milk or other soft foods provided by parents for the babies. Attend to the personal hygiene of each infant by changing diapers frequently and ensuring clothes are changed if soiled. Qualification Minimum of 1 years of experience in an infant classroom. Certification in CPR/First Aid for Children . Ability to play and interact with children at their level (e.g., on the ground, at a table, around a sensory table, assisting with naps). Ability to lift and carry infants when needed. A strong desire to contribute to a growing school and commitment to its vision and mission.
