Job Description

We are seeking a warm, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our Montessori team. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children, values respectful relationships, and takes pride in creating a clean, organized, and nurturing classroom environment. Working alongside an experienced Lead Teacher, you will help support children's independence, learning, and daily classroom routines while becoming part of a collaborative and supportive school community. Available Positions Infant Assistant Teacher (3-18 months): 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Toddler Assistant Teacher (18 months-3 years): 12:00 - 6:00 PM Primary Responsibilities Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom routines and supervision Help prepare and maintain a beautiful, organized Montessori environment Support children's independence, self-help skills, and social-emotional development Engage with children through purposeful activities, outdoor play, meals, and transitions Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming classroom Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow team members Follow Texas Minimum Standards and school policies Work collaboratively with the teaching team to provide a positive learning environment Qualifications Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with young children in a licensed childcare center, preschool, or Montessori school preferred Warm, patient, reliable, and professional Strong communication and teamwork skills CPR & First Aid Certified (or willing to obtain) Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and actively participate in classroom activities Spanish-English bilingual skills are a plus, but not required About Our School For over 11 years, our Montessori school has proudly served families in the Richmond area by providing a caring, nurturing environment where children develop independence, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
