Primary Purpose
To provide clerical assistance to the daily operations of special education support staff.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills
Proficiency in general office skills
Must possess strong organizational skills, customer service, telephone etiquette, administration support and positive interpersonal skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
Demonstrate proficiency in handling matters of highly confidential nature
Must possess personal qualities related to respect for the rights and confidentiality of others
Experience
One-two years working in special education preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Instructional Management
Respond to requests and inquiries from a variety of individuals for the purpose of providing information and/or directions as may be required relevant to special education.
Schedule ARD meetings, maintain ARD calendars and contact appropriate personnel and parents.
Provide clerical duties as assigned; including, but not limited to: copying, faxing, filing, scanning and mailing documents related to ARD meetings.
Input data into and run reports from district student information system management software programs.
Maintain responsibility for all district purchased and issued equipment and materials to ensure they are complete, in good working condition, and secure at all times.
Student Management
Manage tracking system for ARD meeting and evaluation timelines for meeting compliance.
Perform transactions related to student records management and response to records requests.

Reliable and responsible attendance and punctuality
Demonstrates respect, courteous to peers and visitors and assist fellow workers willingly
