Job Description

The Classroom Aide serves under the direction of the Education Supervisor as a second or third adult staff member in the classroom to assist with supervising children ages 3 to 5. Supports teachers with class routines, activities, and active supervision. This position may be regularly scheduled, serve as a substitute, or be on-call, depending on needs. Acts as a Teacher Aide in the classroom including supervising and interacting with children during circle time, singing, transitions, reading stories, and participating with children in learning centers. Aide assists the teachers with active supervision including keeping children safe, healthy, and well-supervised in the classroom and on the playground. Assist teachers with behavior management. Model positive classroom management and promote respect for all children and adults. Model appropriate hand washing, tooth brushing, and table manners for the children. Assist with cleaning, disinfecting and sanitizing toys, floors, and other common areas and surfaces in the classroom. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma Required Preferred Qualifications Early Childhood Experience This position is contingent on funding.
