Assistant Preschool Teacher Legendary Pediatric Therapy Draper, UT Job Details Part-time $13 an hour 2 hours ago Qualifications CPR Certification Experience working with individuals with disabilities First Aid Certification Working with students Cleaning Full Job Description Assistant Preschool Teacher - Special Needs Focus (Part-Time, Mornings) Legendary Preschool - Draper, UT Legendary Preschool is part of Legendary Pediatric Therapy in Draper, and we're looking for a warm, patient, and loving person to assist our lead teacher.
This is a unique setting:
small classes (6-8 students), many with special needs, supported by our clinical OT, PT, and speech therapy team. If you love working with young children and have a heart for kids who learn differently, this role is for you. Schedule Part-time, mornings only, Monday-Friday. Approximately 15 hours per week of classroom time. What you'll do Support the lead teacher in a small classroom of 6-8 children, some with special needs Help carry out daily lessons, activities, and routines planned by the lead teacher Provide one-on-one and small-group support to children who need extra help staying engaged Help children through transitions, snack time, and self-care routines such as handwashing and toileting Use positive, consistent strategies to support behavior and social-emotional growth Reinforce each child's therapy goals as directed by the lead teacher and clinical staff Help prepare materials and keep the classroom safe, clean, and organized Share observations about children's progress and behavior with the lead teacher What we're looking for Experience working with young children, ideally including children with special needs (e.g., preschool, childcare, early intervention, paraprofessional, behavior tech, or similar) Genuine patience, flexibility, and a calm presence Willingness to take direction and work as part of a team Strong communication skills Reliability and consistency — our kids thrive on it No teaching certification or degree required. We'll provide training. Relevant experience and the right heart matter most. Nice to have Coursework or experience in early childhood education, special education, or applied behavior analysis (ABA) CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Familiarity with IEPs or individualized goal plans Why join us You'll work alongside a supportive lead teacher and pediatric therapy team in a small-class environment where you can truly know each child and make a real difference — and gain hands-on experience in special needs education along the way.
