Dancing Moose Montessori School offers programs for children aged 18 months through 2nd grade. Our dedicated team uses the Montessori Philosophy as the foundation for daily interactions, combining it with current researched best practices. We focus on creating an engaging, nurturing environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic growth of each child.
Job Description:
We are currently seeking a passionate and energetic Assistant Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be someone who values both Montessori principles and innovative teaching techniques to foster a positive, supportive learning environment.
Teacher Education Program:
At Dancing Moose, we are committed to the professional growth of our staff. We offer an opportunity to enroll in our Teacher Education Program, where teachers can receive a Montessori teaching credential for the 0-3 years, 3-6 years, or 6-9 years age groups. Succeed:
We are looking for individuals who are invested in promoting children's social, emotional, and academic growth.
The ideal candidate will possess:
A high school diploma (a 2 or 4-year degree or Montessori training is preferred). Adaptability and the ability to step into a new environment and collaborate with existing staff. Effective communication skills with children, parents, teachers, and administrators. A desire to learn and support Montessori principles and structured curriculum.
Skills and Qualifications:
Understanding of Montessori philosophy (experience preferred but not required). Knowledge of Dancing Moose curriculum (training provided). Flexibility to adapt to different classroom settings and routines. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to address concerns and ideas through appropriate channels. Collaborative and supportive approach to working with colleagues.
Physical Requirements:
In accordance with Child Care Licensing requirements, candidates must be able to meet the physical demands of an early childhood education setting, including: Ability to lift, carry, and support children and materials weighing up to 30 pounds Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods of time Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and sit on the floor , and to get up and down frequently throughout the day Ability to actively supervise children in classroom and outdoor environments Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of children We are excited to welcome a dedicated and compassionate individual who enjoys working in a supportive, child-centered environment.
