Job Description
We are seeking a hard-working, dependable individual who enjoys working with students with significant cognitive needs and has a positive, caring approach. The Special Education Teaching Assistant (TA) will work with students in our functional skills classroom, individually and in small groups, under the direction of the Special Education Coordinator. This position will be assigned to the elementary functional skills classroom and work with students with intellectual disability or autism. Some toileting and physical support of students may be involved. Hours are between 8:15-2:45 Monday through Friday, 29.5 hours/week. TAs are preferred to be highly qualified with two years of post high school education OR a passing score on the Paraprofessional PRAXIS. Arrangements can be made for TAs to take the PRAXIS as needed.
