Job Description

At Utah Valley University, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young children while working in a supportive and collaborative environment. As a Part-Time Assistant Childcare Teacher, you will help create a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom where children can learn, explore, and grow. Working alongside experienced educators, you will support daily activities, assist with age-appropriate learning experiences, and help foster positive developmental outcomes during these important early years. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about early childhood education and enjoy working as part of a team. With a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm , this role offers a rewarding opportunity to gain valuable experience, build meaningful relationships with children and families, and contribute to an environment dedicated to learning, care, and student success. Provides supervision and maintains correct teacher-to-child ratios. Assists with teaching the developmentally appropriate education curriculum. Ensures children's safety and needs by maintaining a clean classroom. Other duties assigned. High school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of 6 months of related experience. Must be able to work Monday - Friday, 9:00 am-2:00 pm.
Preferred Qualifications:
CDA Early Childhood Credential, and one year of related experience. Knowledge of public education, family studies, early childhood education, and best practices. Skills in general principles to specific conditions in child care. Ability to follow oral and written procedures and instructions. Demonstrated ability to work successfully with people of varying backgrounds, experiences, and viewpoints. Ability to exercise effective interpersonal problem-solving and decision-making skills.
