Teaching Full Job Description Qualifications:

Experience in caring for children between the ages of 4 to 10 years, with the ability to adapt and interact with a variety of personalities At least 18 years of age Photo ID, Social Security number or Green Card Satisfactory completion of background check Satisfactory completion of CPR training for infants and children Adherence to Calvary Presbyterian Church Child Protection Policy guidelines Teaching experience is a plus Provide three (3) references

OBJECTIVE

To provide teaching assistance and dependable/safe care to children while at Calvary Presbyterian Church, ages 4-10 years, before and during the church service.

Key Functions:

Responsible for providing age-appropriate care, maintaining a safe environment and abiding by Calvary Presbyterian Church Safe Church Policy guidelines, while providing support to the Sunday School Teacher on duty. Be polite, friendly, and courteous to all children, parents, and volunteers. Arrive by 9:15 AM Sunday mornings. Childcare hours include every Sunday from 9:15 AM to 12:00 PM. You are expected to work all Sundays even if it falls on a holiday. You will have the option of working other church events. The opportunity for extra work on days other than Sunday will be announced at least 4 weeks prior to the event. There will always be services during Holy Week, and one service on Christmas Eve. You are to remain in the Childcare designated area until the children are secured with a responsible adult named on the child's registration form. In the event of an emergency notify the parent, by sending your partner into the worship space. Attend an evaluation after a 90-day probationary period and thereafter annually. Any issues or concerns related to your job responsibilities should be reported to the or the Administration Committee Elder and the Christian Education Elder. Communicate in advance, by phone or email 1) any planned absences giving two (2) weeks notice, and 2) any unplanned absences at least two hours prior to the shift.

Termination Policy:

There will be a 90-day probationary period where either party may terminate employment without cause. Beyond this a two-week notice is expected. Dependability is essential. Tardiness and excessive absences will result in termination of employment. Immediate termination will occur in cases of intentional verbal, physical, or emotional abuse or neglect of any child, parent, or church member. Termination may occur for failure to carry out job functions as described above or failure to comply with the Calvary Presbyterian Child Protection Policy.
