We have exciting opportunities available across multiple preschools, daycares, and childcare centers in Alexandria, VA and surrounding areas. We are hiring for Assistant Teachers to support preschool and early childhood classrooms.
Assistant Teacher Responsibilities:
Interact affectionately and respectfully with children Support age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment Assist with daily classroom routines and care, including meals, toileting, and other age-appropriate needs Communicate professionally and warmly with children, families, and peers Collaborate effectively with other teachers and school staff members Follow all health and safety policies and procedures while supervising the children at all timesAssistant Teacher Qualifications:
Must be 16 years or older High school diploma or equivalent required Excellent time management, organization, and attention to detail Ability to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment All candidates must meet Virginia Department of Education childcare requirementsPreferred Qualifications:
2+ years of experience working with children in a preschool, daycare, childcare center or similar early childhood setting CDA credential, Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, or related early childhood teaching certificate; candidates currently working toward a CDA or related credential may also be considered Experience supporting preschool-aged children in a classroom setting Experience implementing lesson plans and engaging with families about child development Spanish language proficiency Make a difference in daycare and preschool education with EarlyDay and apply today.Job Types:
