6:15 AM - 12:30 PM You are required to take a Mandatory 10-hour training to work in childcare. You must have this training completed before your start date.

//extension.psu.edu/programs/betterkidcare/on-demand/states-with-approval/virginia Part-Time Opening Support Teacher We are seeking a dependable, flexible, and energetic Part-Time Opening Support Teacher to help ensure a smooth and successful start to each school day. This position plays an important role in preparing classrooms, welcoming children and families, supporting morning routines, and assisting teaching staff throughout the morning. Responsibilities Assist with opening classrooms and ensuring learning environments are ready for children. Help welcome and receive children as they arrive each morning. Support breakfast service, including preparing the area, assisting children as needed, and completing cleanup afterward. Provide classroom support to teachers in designated classrooms. Assist with supervising and engaging children during morning activities and routines. Cover teacher breaks and provide support in different classrooms as needed throughout the morning. Provide coverage for various classroom needs, including staff absences and scheduled support assignments. Help maintain clean, organized, safe, and welcoming classroom environments. Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to ensure smooth daily operations. Follow all school policies, procedures, health and safety guidelines, and licensing requirements. Qualifications Experience working with young children in a childcare, preschool, or educational setting is preferred. Ability to work effectively with children, families, and team members. Flexible and willing to move between classrooms based on daily staffing needs. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to maintain a positive, caring, and professional attitude in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with children, is adaptable, and is ready to provide support wherever needed to help ensure a successful and welcoming start to the day. This position requires someone who is responsible, dependable, punctual, and fully present and engaged each day.
