Assistant Teacher Part-Time | Schedule Determined by Director | $16 - 20/hr. Manassas Baptist Preschool is seeking a caring, dependable Assistant Teacher to support our Lead Classroom Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, Christ-centered, and developmentally appropriate environment for preschool children. About the Role The Assistant Teacher works alongside the Lead Classroom Teacher to support daily classroom activities, learning experiences, routines, transitions, and supervision. The role includes helping create a positive classroom environment where children are encouraged to grow spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically, and academically. Key Responsibilities Support the Lead Teacher with daily lessons, activities, and classroom preparation. Actively supervise and care for preschool children throughout the school day. Assist with classroom routines, transitions, meals, rest periods, and age-appropriate personal care. Encourage positive behavior, cooperation, kindness, and growing independence. Assist with arrival, dismissal, playground activities, and other classroom responsibilities. Communicate professionally with teachers, families, and preschool staff. Maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries. Follow all preschool safety, child-protection, emergency, and reporting procedures. Participate in required training and staff activities. Support the Christ-centered mission and values of Manassas Baptist Preschool. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, as applicable to the position. Demonstrated love and respect for young children. Ability to work collaboratively with a Lead Teacher and follow direction. Dependable, professional, patient, and able to communicate effectively. Previous experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred. CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain required certification is preferred. Successful completion of required background checks and screenings. Ability to support the mission and faith-based environment of Manassas Baptist Preschool. Why MBC Preschool?
