Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans tailored to early childhood development standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning. Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages active participation and exploration. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement strategies and behavior management techniques. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress, milestones, and any concerns to foster strong home-school connections. Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor student progress and inform instruction. Incorporate child welfare practices by adhering to mandated reporting laws and ensuring the safety and well-being of all children. Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, classroom management strategies, and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness. Support children with special needs through individualized instruction and early intervention strategies. Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress reports, and incident documentation in compliance with licensing requirements. Stay current on best practices in early childhood education by participating in ongoing training related to childhood development, behavior management, first aid/CPR certification, and other relevant areas. Qualifications Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings; preschool teaching experience preferred. Strong knowledge of child development principles, curriculum development, and classroom management techniques. Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention programs, and childhood welfare standards. Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners. Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate literacy education, math skills, physical activity, and social-emotional learning. Certification in first aid and CPR required; ongoing professional development encouraged. Experience working within private schools or similar educational environments is a plus. Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child abuse prevention is essential. Demonstrated ability to adapt instruction for diverse learners including those requiring additional support or accommodations.
