Prepared Environment:
Assist the Lead Teacher in maintaining a beautiful, orderly, and developmentally appropriate classroom tailored to the needs of the very young child.
Foster Independence:
Guide toddlers in "Practical Life" skills, including toileting, dressing, and mealtime routines, with patience and respect for their autonomy.
Observation & Supervision:
Maintain a follow the child approach during work cycles, outdoor exploration, and transitions, ensuring safety while allowing for freedom within limits.
Social-Emotional Modeling:
Utilize Grace and Courtesy lessons to help children navigate their first social experiences and develop emotional regulation.
Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with the teaching team and families to ensure a consistent bridge between home and school.
Community Life:
Participate in staff development and school-wide events, such as our Spring and Fall Festivals.
Qualifications Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree or advanced training in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
Previous experience working with toddlers (ages 16-36 months) in a group setting; an understanding of the specific physical and emotional needs of this age group is essential.
