Job Description

The Woods, A Montessori School in Woodbridge, VA is hiring for a Full Time Assistant Teacher. The successful candidate will work under the direction of a Lead Montessori Teacher and school administration. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Classroom, outdoor, lunch and nap time supervision Toilet training and diapering Planning art projects and contributing to classroom themes Conducting group times that may consist of singing, stories, games, etc. Classroom preparation and cleaning Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in a school setting before. The position starts immediately.
Position Requirements:
At least 6 months of experience in Early Childhood Education is preferred Experience in a Montessori environment highly preferred Excellent professional references Strong written and verbal communication skills Creativity and imagination Strong problem solving skills Ability to work as part of a team and dedication to maintaining a professional environment Must be comfortable managing large groups of children. Candidates with up-to-date CPR/First Aid and Medication Administration Training are also preferred. Must be able to work until 6:00 pm
