Aug 17, 2026 Job Description Barre Town Middle and Elementary School is seeking a part-time Clerical Paraeducator to provide clerical and receptionist support in our busy front office, from 7:00am to 11:00am, Monday through Friday, through the school year. Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned): Greet and welcome visitors to the school. Ensure visitors to the building follow check-in/safety protocol. Inquire about the purpose of entering the office and direct to the appropriate location when necessary. Ensure badges, sign-in sheets, and other materials are well stocked, available, and appropriately displayed. Assist students, parents, teachers, and others who enter the school building and resolve all daily office concerns. Answer all incoming calls; record all messages accurately and give them to the appropriate individual in a timely manner. Practice confidentiality requirements pertaining to students and staff. Provide secretarial assistance to the co-principals and assistant principals. Distribute various written information; answer questions about department/school policies, procedures, fees, schedules, events, services, programs, and the like; distribute, collect, and assist with completing forms. Perform a variety of tasks related to the development, organization, and maintenance of computerized departmental records using personal computers: design and basic programming of appropriate databases and reporting systems using various PC software; initial database input; ongoing use of the system, involving regular data input and using programs to generate a variety of reports. Screen, sort, and distribute incoming mail. Prepare outgoing mail.
Job Requirements:
Previous office experience is preferred. Applicants must have a high school degree/GED and successfully complete a Paraeducator Assessment. This assessment is administered by appointment at the BUUSD Central Office OR An Associate's Degree / minimum of 48 undergraduate credits. For complete job description, click here.
