Aug 17, 2026 Job Description Barre City Elementary and Middle School is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator to work with PreK students beginning mid-August. Responsibilities for the Special Education Paraeducator will vary depending on the assignment, but typically include: 1:1 support and/or small group support Eyes-on supervision during class, transition times and lunch Redirection Data collection Consultation and communication with teachers and case manager
Job Requirements:
Previous experience working with prek children and early education training/education preferred. Applicants that have no education in early childhood education will be required to take a child development course offered through the local community college within 1 year of hire as required by the Vermont Child Development Division. At least 1 year of relevant experience is preferred. Applicants must have a high school degree/GED and successfully complete a Paraeducator Assessment. This assessment is administered by appointment at the BUUSD Central Office OR An Associate's Degree / minimum of 48 undergraduate credits. For full job description, click here.
