Aug 19, 2026 Job Description The special education paraeducator provides support to students with disabilities in both general education and special education classrooms. This role assists the classroom teacher in implementing instructional plans, managing student behavior, and ensuring students receive the support they need to succeed academically, socially, emotionally and behaviorally. Desired qualification/qualities include: therapeutic approach, flexibility, relationship builder. Assists students with physical, academic, and behavioral needs, implements Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) under the guidance of certified staff and may in some cases support students with a 504 plan. Patience, compassion and strong communication skills are required in order to be successful. Associate degree or high school diploma with a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment required.
