Job Overview The Children's School (TCS) is looking for a part-time Assistant Teacher to join our small, welcoming preschool community. As a five-star, play-based program, we believe children learn best through curiosity, exploration, meaningful relationships, and plenty of time outdoors. We're looking for someone who is warm, dependable, and genuinely enjoys spending time with young children. The ideal candidate loves being outside in every season, values open-ended play, and is excited to follow children's interests as they learn and grow. This position includes Mondays and Fridays, 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and can also include Thursdays as well (if interested!) , beginning September 1, 2026 , and continuing through June 13, 2027 . The position includes paid scheduled breaks during Thanksgiving, winter break, February break, and spring break. There may also be opportunities to work in our summer camp program. Responsibilities Support lead teachers in implementing lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and early childhood development activities Assist with classroom management to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for young learners Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development Help organize classroom materials and educational resources to facilitate smooth daily operations Provide one-on-one or small group support for children with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities or developmental delays. Support behavior management strategies to encourage positive interactions and emotional regulation among students Collaborate with teachers on curriculum development and adapt activities to meet individual student needs Skills Experience working with children in childcare, preschool, daycare, or early childhood education settings Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members Familiarity with lesson planning and curriculum development across literacy, math, and general preschool subjects Technical proficiency with educational tools and classroom technology Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and support teacher-led initiatives Eligible for a $500 sign-on bonus after your first six weeks!!

Pay:

$20.00 - $24.00 per hour
